The story behind the art.

Lazy Cow came to be on a lovely sunny Sunday
in Newcastle. We’d been to the Quayside Market for a mooch and decided to walk all the way along the river towards the Ouseburn, soaking up the sunshine and just enjoying being outside on a beautiful day.

We walked via Ouseburn Farm, where we spotted this big guy completely sprawled out in a field, looking very chilled and fully content with his Sunday snooze.

Obviously, I took a photo. I just knew he needed to become a painting. The name wasn’t quite as smooth.

When my boyfriend asked what I was going to call it, I confidently announced “Snoozy Cow.” My sister immediately replied, “You mean Lazy Cow, right?

For someone who absolutely loves a pun, I’m actually pretty terrible at coming up with them myself. Luckily, my sister isn't.

A little reminder to enjoy the sunshine, slow down, and never underestimate the power of a good Sunday snooze.
