What’s a Palm Between Pals?
What’s a Palm Between Pals? is a playful celebration of friendship, body positivity, and feeling at home in your own skin.
The piece features two best friends by a pool in Latchi, Cyprus, naked, relaxed, and laughing, using a palm to cover up because sometimes joy matters more than perfection, and modesty can be a shared joke rather than a rule. The title came naturally, capturing the ease and trust between two people who feel completely comfortable together. 🌴
This work is inspired by those rare and beautiful moments where there is no pressure to perform or present yourself in a certain way. It reflects the freedom that comes with being accepted exactly as you are, without comparison, judgment, or shame. Bodies are shown not to be scrutinised, but to be lived in, enjoyed, and celebrated for carrying us through moments of connection and fun.
There was something powerful about that sense of ease and closeness that felt important to honour. Taking the moment from photograph to paint allowed it to become more than a memory. It became a statement about confidence, trust, and showing up as your genuine and beautiful self.
At its heart, What’s a Palm Between Pals? is about normalising bodies and celebrating friendship. It is about joy without self-consciousness, laughter without fear, and love without conditions.
I hope this piece brings a smile to your face and reminds you that comfort in your own skin is something to be celebrated, especially when shared with the people who make you feel safe and seen.
